Born: 21 Aug. 1876, Brunnenthal, Russia Married: 27 Dec. 1894 to Katherine Wagner, Brunnenthal, Russia Died: 21 Oct. 1971, Portland, Oregon Buried: 26 Oct. 1971, Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Oregon
My husband and I just bought a 1911 home in Portland, Oregon.
In doing some online research, i found a 1954 plumbing permit that showed the owner at that time was David Ehlenberger. I googled that name and found this posting.
I'm intrigued by the people who lived in the house before us - it's nearly 100 years old. Anyway, I figured I'd shoot you an email and ask what ever became of Mr. Ehlenberger's family.
"Those who do not look upon themselves as a link, connecting the past with the future, do not perform their duty to the world."
"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we came from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness." -- Alex Haley, Roots
